Actor Saumitra Chatterjee captivated everyone with his energetic acting. He was a favorite actor of many directors. He also won many awards during his 85 years. He passed away on 15 November 2020 in Kolkata. He died of the Koruna virus. His corona report was positive.
He was the first Indian actor to be honored with France’s highest award. He was also honored with “Dadasaheb Phalke Award” as well as “Sangeet Natak Academy Award”, “Seven Filmfare Award” and “Padma Bhushan” award.
